It can be said that the presence of school counselors has been incorporated into schools on a daily basis. On the other hand, however, there are many school counselors who may face challenges as their work styles, and issues to be addressed, become more diverse. The purpose of this study was to review research on school counselors, summarize the content from the perspective of school counselors, and present research issues and future perspectives. As a result, it became clear that while there are many studies on case reports of school counselors, and on collaboration between teachers and school counselors, there is insufficient research on issues specific to school counselors, such as training of school counselors, initial response, and preventive education.
