This study also addresses the present situation and childcare needs at secondary evacuation centers. The following three points have become apparent regarding children's childcare needs and support.\n(1) Although early reports have shown mental care activities for children of elementary school age and older who were affected by the earthquake, little has been reported about the childcare needs and support for children (infants) affected by the earthquake. The compatibility between the provided support and the childcare needs of disaster-affected children is extremely important, since the support is only effective if it is provided according to each recipient's needs. This research provided a means to understand the childcare needs of disaster-affected children through interviews with first-stage evacuees and second-stage evacuation centers.\n(2) Better support for children can dramatically improve the environment, interpersonal relationships, resource allocation, and so forth through appropriate treatments. Evacuation centers are managed by neighborhood associations and governments with a certain amount of influence, but it is necessary to gather experts from both inside and outside the country to provide more effective support.\n3) The Noto Peninsula earthquake revealed the need for children's mental health care, the shortage of childcare workers, and the problems created by the consolidation and abolition of daycare centers. When children with their parents wish to continue living in their accustomed areas following the Noto Peninsula Earthquake, it would be better to sufficiently rebuild the childcare provision system for their childcare needs, and develop the community, while fully responding to the childcare needs in addition to the adults' needs. Such children need specific support which includes ascertaining each child's whereabouts, determining each child's mental and physical health status and providing advice and care according to each child's health status. There is a need to understand each child's living environment and adjust the rhythm of their life. There is also a need to ensure that such children can lead a childlike daily life, which includes providing a safe place for them to play, making adjustments so that parents and adults who spend time with each child consider their thoughts and feelings, taking precautions to avoid dangers including food poisoning and heat stroke, and stockpiling supplies. It has become apparent that it is necessary to manage each child's health according to seasonal
