| 内容記述 | This study examined cases of adolescent self-harm behaviors where collaboration with parents presents significant challenges. The findings suggest that cases involving difficult parent-school collaboration are characterized not only by parents' uncertainty about how to respond to their children's self-harm behaviors but also by parents' limited capacity for acceptance and empathy toward their children's negative emotions or by attitudes that reject such negative emotional expressions. In such situations, children may either reject their parents despite their distress, or parents may ignore their children, making it difficult for schools to establish effective collaboration with parents. This paper argues for the necessity of recognizing the reality that parents may struggle to engage with their children in an accepting and empathetic manner. Regarding school responses, this study clarifies that teachers, school nurses, and school counselors should work collaboratively to enhance students' self-esteem. Additionally, it was revealed that school responses need to be considered from the perspective that self-harm behaviors may be related to children's developmental characteristics and welfare issues within the family. |
