Therefore, this paper considers university management as a cognitive phenomenon based on the sociological new institutional theory, and investigates the following three issues.\nThe first is to present the potential of sociological new institutionalism as an analytical model in university management research. In Chapter 1, we construct hypotheses and arguments regarding the adaptive behavior of universities to the reform of the university management system since the 1990s in accordance with sociological new institutionalism. The second is to identify the limitations of sociological new institutionalism as an analytical model (Chapter 2).
