内容記述 | The objective of the present study is to qualitatively analyze the interactions between students and individuals with mental disability, as well as the educational resources available to these individuals through university classes involving continuous participation of individuals with mental disability. Firstly, the course and contents of "classes involving continuous participation of individuals with mental disability" are introduced. Then, “interactions between students and individuals with mental disability" are analyzes by dividing them into "students' impressions of mental disability before and after classes", "responses of students", and "responses of individuals with mental disability". Thirdly, the results show that the experience of interacting with individuals with mental disability may enable students to have opportunities to form a positive impression of mental disability in place of the negative concepts regarding mental disability that have already been formed. As for the environment in which the individuals with mental disability themselves establish the definition of the situation as an educational environment, they not only try to maintain the interaction order using various frames, but are also able to contribute to education while showing interest and motivation, and to thereby acquire a new social role. We aim to use similar approaches in the future to promote the participation of individuals with mental disability in education in order to reverse the negative bias held by students and improve their communication ability with regard to assistance. | |||||||||||
