| 内容記述 | This is the preliminary report of a study of selected Japanese students at English language institutes in the United States conducted by Yuko Takeuchi and Elizabeth King. In this project we held interviews and administered questionnaires regarding academic and cross-cultural experiences to Japanese students studying English in university-related language institutions. The recent trend among Japanese toward going abroad prompts many students to study English in countries where English is spoken. The students we encountered represent a wide variety of age groups, academic experiences, and English ability, and the length of study also varies greatly. These experiences give the Japanese students contact in the classroom with students from various cultures, and offer them chances to realize and find their individual ways to adapt to these cultural differences on their own in their daily life. | |||||||||
