内容記述 | Thinking about what language to use in EFL classrooms is difficult. While many teachers presumably assume that using only the target language (L2) is a must, many researchers seem to indicate there are certain drwabacks. This paper will explore an alternative way, in which the differences between L1 and L2 are emphasized in class and explained in L1 instead of using only L2. It will also examine the possiblity that students’ performance in foreign languages is deeply influenced by the creativity (the ability to apply their knowledge to create and understand new sentences) of students based on the data collected in vocabulary quizzes. Furthermore, this paper suggests that the data obtained seem consistent with the theory of generative grammar, and although theorists in this field have not been very successful in applying their findings in foreign language education, in this light, generative grammar may provide new insight into this field. | |||||||||||
