| 内容記述 | The objective of the present study was to examine the ability of professionals to control the arrangement of people and objects in clinical settings by focusing on group approach settings for people with schizophrenia. We investigated two cases of men with schizophrenia who were isolated in group approach settings at psychiatric daycare facilities. Data were analyzed based on the participant observation records of the author. Staff conducted interventions on the setting of group approaches itself, rather than focusing on verbal interactions among participating members. The results showed improvements in mutual interactions among group members. Therefore, although both users and staff exercised control over participation methods in clinical settings, staff are in a position to control the structure of settings and must control the structure of settings in consideration of benefits to users. | |||||||||||
