| 内容記述 | Recent discussion on the Affirmative Action Program in the United States has a powerful influence on various areas, such as work, contracts, and education. This paper focuses on the enforcement of the Affirmative Action Program in higher education, and examines the attitudes of diversities attempting to deal with the recent trend to ban the Affirmative Action Program at the state level. Many universities have introduced new strategies aimed at achieving 'diversity on campus' instead of applying for the Affirmative Action Program. However, most of these have met with limited success. With these results, institutions have to rethink the pros and cons of the Affirmative Action Program and the achievement of 'diversity, equality, and fairness' as educational goals. These arguments, which recent legal decisions prohibiting the Affirmative Action Program have brought up, appear to follow the demographic and social changes and reflect U.S. society itself from the standpoint of American higher education. | |||||||||
