| 内容記述 | The purpose of HIV/AIDS education includes caring for people at risk with HIV/AIDS, PWA, and HIV carriers. Thus, it is a multi-purpose activity. In January of 1998, we visited high schools in New York to ask about the "Teen Task Force", and activities performed by the students. The high school students answered, "Why volunteer? I want to be a part of the solution. To help create an environment of understanding, information and compassion for anyone with AIDS. I'm just one person, but I think each of us does make a difference. Somewhere along the way, each of us touches someone." In the U.S., being active among citizens and students by creating opportunities for PWA (people with AIDS) to meet and talk seems to have a good effect on preventive education for HIV/AIDS. For example, the "Teen Task Force" and volunteer phone counseling seems to be a good experience for people. How dose the situation in Japan compare to the U.S.? In February of 1987, Japan began preventive education for HIV/AIDS. This was in response to Japan's first AIDS patient death in January 1987, although the first HIV positive case was diagnosed in 1985. It is important to put effort into this matter continuously. | |||||||||
