| 内容記述 | The people who gathered around Yanaghita Kunio during the 1910's were mostly school teachers and young bureaucrat in search of local community. With Nitobe Inazo's assistance, Yanaghita organized a small circle called 'Kybdo-kai' in 1910. Soon after members of 'Kyodo-kai' divided into two distinct groups. Yanaghita and most of the school teachers gathered together to pursue the task of collecting and recording the folk heritage. The other group headed by Ishiguro Tada-atsu, one of the most talented officials in Ministry of Agriculture, sought to develop their insight into the national identity by fieldwork study in Japanese village. In 1917, these latent differences became more apparent after the investigation in Naigo village, faced with a untrained fieldwork study, Yanaghita realized the necessity for the methods of his folklore research. Under these circumstances, the relationship with 'Kyodo-kai' members hid a variety of complications concerning local community in modern history. | |||||||||
