| 内容記述 | This is a preliminary report on the field data collected in the summers of 1996 and 1997. The objective of this study was to look at the urban processes of American Indians coming to Chicago before the Relocation Program (1951) and those Indians who moved to Chicago under the Program. For this purpose personal histories of both those who were relocated and those who were not relocated are presented. In addition, it is hoped that a comparison of these two groups will eliminate incipient features of the Indian community in Uptown Chicago, particularly its organizational aspects. How organizations such as the American Indian Center and St. Augustine's Center for American Indian, Inc. evolved and what functions those organizations have assumed will be briefly explained. | |||||||||
