内容記述 | The purpose of this study is to train students, who lack life experience and communication skills, but aspire to be child development professionals in the community, such as childcare workers, public health nurses, physiotherapists, and clinical psychologists. This study presents the results of an interview conducted with six child development professionals, who are currently employed or had worked in the community. The interview concerned the knowledge, ttitudes, and skills required to become a child development professional in the community; the interviewed professionals shared their experiences at work, which was highly beneficial to the study. Analysis of the interview data evealed that the clinical attitudes and skills required to become a child development professional are remarkably complex when applied in real life situations. The professionals put themselves in the inhabitants’ situation maintaining a censor between imagination and sympathy. They first learned about the developmental perspectives of children and the basics of parent–child relationships by interacting with service users and their seniors at work, who guided them in analyzing their judgment. Once the professionals acquired these experiences, they imparted the same to the parents and children they met. Further, they assessed the parents and children, chose the best approach, and using social resources, supported them with their professional skills. Finally, they started experiencing a sense of joy in helping other individuals and found a purpose in life. Therefore, this approach could be adopted to enhance the training methods for students to become efficient child development professionals in the community. | |||||||||
