内容記述 | This study examined the teaching content of the “Mechanics of music” in the [common items] of the music course in elementary school, in the “specialized matters related to the subject (music)” class of the teacher training course, presented from the students’ level of understanding. Instruction was provided at three universities on the “Mechanics of music,” focusing on musical activities, and a survey was conducted among the students after the instructions had been completed, to measure their level of understanding. This paper classified and discussed the answers regarding musical pieces with elements of “repetition” and “change” in the “Mechanics of music,” based on the evaluation criteria for measuring the level of understanding that had been designed by the authors. The results suggest that it is necessary to have knowledge related to musical form, sensibility, and linguistic expression to perceive music, understand the terminologies of “elements that characterize music,” and to experience the students practicing and sharing creative ideas on their own in the understanding of “repetition” and “change.” | |||||||||
